OVERVIEW
Not only is Chitabe Camp built on a private island but it’s also within a 22 000-hectare concession in the south-eastern Okavango Delta where it meets the Kalahari Desert. This makes for a fascinating mix of woodland, grassland and wetland – and the innumerable species such as red lechwe, tsessebe and even pelicans that occupy them. There is a very healthy predator population and you’ll seldom share sightings with others.
The camp has been beautifully designed to give you supreme comfort while still being sympathetic to the bush surroundings. Soaring thatched roofs are combined with polished walkways, low lighting and exquisite wildlife photographs. Highlights include a small gym, a boma open to the stars and the chance to take a helicopter flip!
